Saturday

The Indian summer month is well under way. For once I'm appreciating how nice it is that the beach is only a mile way, even though for the rest of the months of the year it makes the Sunset District a giant blob of fog.

This week

Has been quite eventful.
We had our little opening party/gallery show with artist Amy Earles. She is the first person to use our new gallery space at Rare Device.
Amy makes incredibly delicate and detailed paintings, drawings, and paper dolls. You must see them in person to truly appreciate how refined and beautiful they are. Show's up until Sept. 30th if you're around!


One of my favorite pieces from the show. I don't know why but these little conehead creatures are so cute, especially on the wood. See/purchase more of the pieces from the show here.

It's really awesome and inspiring talking to the artists and learning about how they got started. The internet is a big part of it (flickr, blogging, etc.); it makes the art world seem like a smaller place.

Yesterday

Yesterday was hot enough for the beach! And Jamba Juice! YES this is blog-worthy news! Today is even hot enough for beach again. And I'm making blueberry cake. And the US Open is on tv. And I'm adding the second mouse to my watercolor painting. And I guess that's all.

Finally

...began painting again. "Splurged" on some watercolors and brushes, trying to stay within my lack of a budget as best as possible. I haven't wanted to buy new art supplies because I have them already, they're just at home in LA.

Apparently this is going on this weekend. I recall hearing a little bit about it, but it slipped my mind and now it's sold out. Anyhow, I have work today and then an engagement party to attend. While perusing ideas on what to get a soon to be married couple, we decided this would be perfect, really:

Laundry

I'm doing five bajillion dollars worth of laundry right now. It's been so nice outside this past week. Feeling lazy. I'm going to punish myself by running to the beach later. I guess life isn't so bad when punishment consists of going to the beach. No complaints. Time to check on laundry.

September soon...

Apparently, August in SF is known as "Fog-ust", and I believe it. However the past few days have been amazing and sunny and actually hot (with no help from the fever I've been nursing) so I have faith that September will bring the long awaited summer here. Crossing my fingers.
