This weekendhttp://www.blogger.com/img/gl.link.gif
Apparently this is going on this weekend. I recall hearing a little bit about it, but it slipped my mind and now it's sold out. Anyhow, I have work today and then an engagement party to attend. While perusing ideas on what to get a soon to be married couple, we decided this would be perfect, really:
No joke.
Buy it here.
Dude. You can even have it engraved. Nothing says "Happy Engagement" like a giant heart remote control.

September soon...
Apparently, August in SF is known as "Fog-ust", and I believe it. However the past few days have been amazing and sunny and actually hot (with no help from the fever I've been nursing) so I have faith that September will bring the long awaited summer here. Crossing my fingers.
This morning. Be impressed--no fog!

A new week.
Rare Device is closed for remodeling for about 2 weeks, but I'll be going in to help clean up and prep.
Yesterday we saw Tropic Thunder and it was quite glorious.
itunes is doing the perfect shuffling of songs this morning. I love it when that happens.
What else...friday is the Outside Lands concert here. I'm sure the MUNI and the streets and the park will be insane.

Where I'm at...
This is Irving Street; it's within walking distance from the apartment. It's occupied by predominantly Asian shops and restaurants, supermarket, fruit stands, bakery, post office; anything you could think of is here.
Here's the donut place ;)
This is where we frequent for produce (berries, vegetables, etc.) They don't have meat or anything, mainly fruits and vegetables and some sundries.
The Irish bar we go to. They have good food but last time we were there someone was having a wedding reception and the guitar dude was torturing us with a capella Irish renditions of bad wedding songs.

Crossing the bridge again.
The bridge is 1.7 miles, but the walk goes by quick. And, I know you won't believe me, but I see things in the water (the bridge is 220 ft high) with my laser vision.
Also, this is the difference 1.7 miles can make in terms of weather. Same day, same time, just opposite ends of the bridge:
Sometimes I wonder why San Francisco isn't called the gloomy city. But yesterday was sunny and nice on this side of the bridge, so I won't complain!

Mr. Rogers
I've never been a big Mr. Rogers fan, but last week I found myself watching an episode on the weather and how the weather is predicted using giant balloons. Coincidentally I got this email from James yesterday, and I'm taking the time to watch it at 7am. I think you should too.
